BIMINI TWIST
© Steinbrook, Russell, BMI
Tschudin, ASCAP

The Islanders tell
a pirate tale of the sea
down in the Devil’s Triangle
back in the 15th Century
They’d drink rum all day
Rape and pillage all night
There’s always hell to pay
living a pirate’s life

Columbus sailed west for India
searching for an alternate route
He never found America
so why celebrate a fictitious date
It’s a twist in history
La la la la la
La la la la la
There’s always hell to pay
Living a pirate’s life
La la la la la
La la la la la
There’s always hell to pay
Living a pirate’s life

Ponce de Leon claimed he was
searching for the Fountain of Youth
Just a facade for piracy and
deeds against humanity
Another twisted legacy
La la la la la
La la la la la
There’s always hell to pay
Living a pirate’s life
La la la la la
La la la la la
There’s always hell to pay
Living a pirate’s life

Even Papa Hemingway
wondered about the Bimini Road
Who could have placed the stones
Where could they lead under the sea
It’s still a mystery......
La la la la la
La la la la la

False legacies and mysteries
with a Bimini Twist
La la la la la
La la la la la
Lots of history under the sea
down in Bimini

There’s alway’s hell tp pay
when you chose to live a pirate’s life
Alway’s hell tp pay
when you chose to live a pirate’s life

THE SILENT TREATMENT
© Michael Steinbrook, BMI

She’s been giving me the silent treatment
There must be something going on
She tries to act like everything’s all right,
but she’s wrong

I pretend it doesn’t bother me
Just let her play her little game
Don’t want to start no trouble
So I don’t say a thing

I’m giving her the silent treatment
Now we’ve got something going on
Both try to act like, things are all right
But we both know it’s wrong

I pretend it doesn’t bother me
We both play our little games
Now we’ve got some trouble brewing
But I don’t say a thing

She’s been giving me the silent treatment
I know something’s going on
We try to act like everything’s all right,
but everything is wrong

IT DON’T MATTER ANYWAY
© Sonny Russell, BMI

There’s a woman I use to know
the spittin’ image of you
Same sweet way of walkin’ and
talkin’ and carrying on
same bambi brown eyes too
She said she loved me
and I believed every word she said

But how was I to know
She’d turn around and say the same thing
to somebody else
Lord, It only goes to show

A woman’s love is such a fleeting thing
It changes each and every day
Don’t believe in her all that much
cause It don’t matter anyway no no
It don’t matter anyway oooh

You’re that woman I use to know
and everytime I see you, you know I hurt
How could you sell out a love like ours baby
for some jackass that treats you just like dirt
Maybe that’s what it takes
a little roughness and cheatin’
to keep a woman in line
but to that I can’t react
Cause my love is warm and tender
and giving, and so fine
and that’s a natural fact

I can see by that fool on your arm
your taste takes a turn for the worse everyday
If that’s all you want out of life, baby
I guess it just don’t matter anyway
It just don’t matter anyway, oooh

Now who is this on my telephone?
Honey, could this be you?
Been so long since I heard your voice, darlin’
I gotta pinch myself to see if it’s true
You say that boy’s done gone and
broke your heart for you baby
and left you alone to cry
Now you need someone
to catch your tears for you darlin’
Some fool to dry your eyes

I hate to say it, but I told you so
but you didn’t hear a single word I had to say
Now you found out for yourself
It just don’t matter anyway, no no
Love just don’t matter anyway, no no no
love love love
just don’t matter anyway , oooh

BE MY LOVER
© Sonny Russell, BMI

I see you there you look so fine
That smile tells me that you've been reading my mind
Now baby, be my lover

Your auburn hair, your coal black eyes
shine like diamonds always hypnotizing me
Baby, be my lover

I've got some secret places I can show you
I've got some magic words that I can teach you
I've got my mystic eyes watching all that you do
Come on baby now, let me get to know you

Your shapely hips, your long tan legs
Enough to make the proudest proud man beg
Oh baby, be my lover

Your pouting lips, your painted toes
That silly little way you kinda' wrinkle your nose
Oh baby, be my lover

You know I'm here but you won't look my way
I caught you glancing at me just the other day
I think you're interested but who am I to say
Let your guard down, let's slip away

We'll make it good, we'll keep it right
It'll always feel like the very first night
Now baby, be my lover

This wanting you can hurt so bad
This heart's the heaviest that I've ever had
You know the thing that's really making me mad
Instead of making me sad, I could be making you so glad

What you want, you know I know
Come on baby let me show you so
Oh baby, be my lover

TIME ENOUGH FOR LOVE
© Michael Tschudin, ASCAP

He went to sea at thirteen
Not by choice, but fate

By the time they crossed the Equator
They'd made him Bowson's mate
Met many a lass in ports of call
Saw wealth beyond his dreams
But he never forgot the love back home
And he wrote her what he'd seen

He went to war at seventeen
Like his father did before
The days were tough, the nights were rough
On a cold and distant shore
It seemed a lifetime later
So far away from home
Where someone waits for any word
And it’s time to spend alone...So he's writing

We've got time enough for love
Make the time enough for love
Take the time enough for love

You know we're both out workin'
Tryin' to make ends meet
It's not easy in a space suit
When your tryin' to beat the heat
The shuttle's runnin' late
And you know the race is fixed
It's light years 'till the stars align
So we can make the trip..So I'm singin'

No matter where we're goin'
Doesn't matter where we've been
We'll always find a secret place
Where time will never end
But the hands of time keep moving
And the calendar drops a date
It's hard to find a place and time
In space that doesn't wait

Now I'm out here on Neptune
And you're back home on Earth
I'm sorry I can't be there now
But that's the way it works
I won't be home for Christmas
So I'm sending something through
It's not the same as being there
But it's the best that I can do ........
It's the thought that counts

FLORIDA WILDLIFE
© Michael Steinbrook, BMI

Where do they all come from
Did they escape from the factories?
Why do they stay?
Hey, must be the sunshine
When will they be leaving?
Maybe tomorrow
Some say they want to stay
for the rest of their lives

Now the highways are filled
With pickup trucks and pollution
They're draining the swamps
To park their double-wides
Even the Governor
can't find a good solution
For controlling all the hillbillies
And still save the wildlife

Life Is great in the Sunshine State
once you learn to take it slow
It’s a cash economy
Trade and barter’s the way to go

Where did they all come from?
Must be escaping the rat race mon
They can't be staying here too long
There's a hurricane down in the Bahamas mon
I know they want to be leaving
There's a plane that takes off tomorrow
I can't imagine them all staying here
for the rest of their lives

There's a wrinkled old man and a woman
They run around with their crutches and
their wheelchairs
They ain't goin' nowhere
They have these cane poles and
they just fish all the time
There's got to be something we can do
Maybe some spray, mon
We spray for fruit flies and mosquitoes
but we can't get rid of those rednecks, mon

Oh No, some Buckeyes are moving in next door
Did you hear that Bluegrass music?
What is that, a banjo?

TEQUESTA MOON
© Steinbrook, Russell, BMI, Tschudin, ASCAP

Strolling the beach on a moonlit night
Sure coulda used someone to hold me tight
under the shimmering light
of a full Tequesta Moon

She was standing by the ocean
Skipping shells across the sea
She was there all by her lonesome
She looked about as lonely as me

So I said hello and picked up some shells
We made small talk and introduced ourselves
Strolled Juno Beach by the breaking swells
under the full Tequesta moon

She was just here for the season
I live here all year long
The beach and sunshine were the reasons
she hated to go back home

She let me hold her hand
She let me kiss her lips
We rolled around in the sand
I never expected things to wind up like this

We said our goodbyes at the morning light
She had to pack for an early flight
I’ll stroll along the beach again tonight
under a full Tequesta Moon

You might find your angel tonight
under a full Tequesta Moon

I JUST LOVE YOU
© Sonny Russell, BMI

It's so hard to be cool
and not feel like a fool
Standing in front of you
bare to the bones
With the way that I feel
and no way to conceal
I Just Love You

Well I try to be nice
And refrain from advice
And warning of things
That can happen to someone
As gentle as you
I fail times its true
I Just Love You

Cause I see something in there burning for me
You know I’m never giving up on you baby
I know that someday you’ll be able to see
All the love I have inside for you baby
It will be perfectly clear
You were meant to be here with me

Now the days roll along
And I try to be strong
In the face of your flirting
And all of this hurting
With no place to hide
A man with no pride
I Just Love You

THE CLUBHOUSE
© M. Steinbrook, S. Russell, J. Caughlan, BMI

We had a Clubhouse out back
It was our retreat
where we’d smoke cigarettes and read girlie magazines
Had an old juke box that played 78’s
A rope ladder and a trap door for a quick escape

Man I wish I still had my Clubhouse
Someplace safe where I can hide out
But I always seem to wind up in the Doghouse
just itchin’ and scratchin’ all night

We repeated our oath
at a meeting once a week
No girls allowed was the strict policy
One thing about rules is
somebody’s gonna break ‘em
That’s where the cheerleaders
always wanted me to take ‘em

Playing poker by flashlight, she dealt me a royal flush
and had to take off all her clothes
She told her mother I never touched her
but that ain’t the way the story goes

So be careful playing games in your clubhouse
Cause they might come back to haunt you in your later life
You might find yourself in the Doghouse
If you make a Clubhouse Girl your wife

LOVE YOU SO
© Michael Tschudin, ASCAP

It's been hard long and lonely
Waitin' for you ...To come through
I played my cards wrong ..now I only
Wanna make it up to you
I've been here hopin so long
For you to come back home
Back where you belong

I'll never know why I let you go
When I love you so
I'll never know why I let you go
When I love you so

Well it's later than latest and too late
For hopin' your news is good news
I'm tired of singing this song
Only to find out....It's the blues
I been here hopin I'd find
That you'd come back home
and change your mind

Sometimes You don't know a good thing
Until you've lost it

Then ya know, when ya know what you had
When you had it
Sometimes you don't know a good thing
Until it's all gone
And it's so long, so long
All you've got left is this song to sing.....It's the blues

It's my own fault......I guess
I took you for granted
I thought you'd always be there
But I guess you couldn't stand it
I been here hopin' so long
For you to come back home
Back where you belong

I'll never know why I let you go
When I love you so
I'll never know why I let you go
When I love you so

JUST CAN’T SAY GOOD-BYE
© M. Tschudin, ASCAP, M. Steinbrook, BMI

V1
She left Pittsburgh with no regrets
With memories she’d just as soon forget
Drove to Florida with her cat and clothes
Barely made it in her run down olds
Left without leaving a note goodbye

V2
She changed her name to fit her face
Tried out Lucy for a change of pace
Serving rum drinks in the sun and sand
Kept an eye out for the perfect man
Never knew until too late
that she’s been wrong
for so long

Chorus:
Still she just can’t say goodbye
No she just can’t say goodbye

V3
On a cruise ship in the Bahamas
She tried out a new name, Dawna
Teasing every man she’d meet
charmed by a fake identity
Traveling a long, long way from homeV4

Breaking hearts in every port of call
Then she’d jump ship, and leave them all
The telephone rings but there’s nothing to stay
Cause she’s made other plans today
Never knowing until too late
that she’s been wrong,
for so long

Chorus:
Still she just can’t say goodbye
No she just can’t say goodbye

V5
Stores momentos like collections of shells
So she can recall them like friends
But she’ll never see them again
They’re gone now, it’s a dead end

Now she’s got things to keep her dream afoat
Corvette, a condo and a motor boat
Selling timeshare fantacies
on dreamy little islands in the Florida Keys
She knows that it’s too late
that she’s been wrong,
for so long

Chorus:
Still she just can’t say goodbye
No she just can’t say goodbye
